Weekly seminar in Reggio Emilia, May 18–22, 2026

Once a year, the Reggio Emilia Institute, in collaboration with Reggio Children, organizes a week-long seminar in Reggio Emilia.

The weekly seminar is open to participants from Nordic countries, making it a Nordic meeting as well as a meeting between the Nordic countries and Italy.

Course fee: SEK 29,650 excluding VAT, subject to change. Due to new EU directives, we have been informed by the Italian tax authorities that all foreign-based companies are treated as domestic Italian companies from a tax perspective, which is why we have had to register for VAT in Italy and Italian VAT (22 percent) will be charged on our services performed and sold there. Companies established within the EU may, under certain conditions, apply for a VAT refund in accordance with EU Directive 2008/09/EC.
Languages:Italian and Swedish. All lectures, workshops, seminars, and visits to preschools and nursery schools are interpreted into Swedish.
Additional information:The price of the seminar includes accommodation in a double room in a centrally located hotel with breakfast and the course fee for Reggio Children. Single rooms are available for a single room supplement of approximately SEK 650 per person per night.
Date:May 18–22, 2026, excluding travel days

The weekly seminar includes lectures, workshops, seminars, and visits to preschools and nursery schools. There, participants have the opportunity to observe and shadow the activities and follow how educators and children explore, create, and learn together.

This week provides a comprehensive overview of educational activities at preschools in Reggio Emilia, from their origins and history to how they are organized today. Through discussions with each other and with their Italian colleagues, participants gain a deeper understanding and a unique opportunity to reflect on their activities in Sweden and the Nordic region.

The weekly seminar is aimed at educators, managers, administrators, and politicians. In 2026, the weekly seminar will be held May 18-22, excluding travel days.
