In Pedagogical Leadership and Collegial Learning in Preschool, authors Karin Alnervik and Per Alnervik generously share their own experiences and those of the HallonEtt preschool, as well as the school's development over more than a decade. Above all, they highlight how participation and collective learning in various forms can serve as a driving force for the continuous development of a preschool's activities, and how important this is for educational leadership. But the book is also about a preschool that seeks to protect and develop an atmosphere of friendliness, scientific habits, collaborative learning, equality, participation, intellectual conversation, playfulness, etc.
The book is based on the authors' own preschool practice and contains a number of concrete, telling, and reflective examples from it. But the authors also place all this in an interesting theoretical model (Engström's activity system, which Karin Alnervik also used as a basis for her 2013 dissertation, "But you can also think that way! Pedagogical documentation as a tool for change in preschool," but which they have now taken further).
This book is particularly well suited for all kinds of "leaders" in and around preschool—both educational leaders and preschool managers, officials, and politicians—but also for all educators and those interested in education.
